Carson city to Durango or 14 days of desert

1000 miles, over 35,000 feet of climbing and three states was all that separated Nice Tim and I from the Single Speed World Championships and as much free beer as we could drink.
I really wanted to do this trip for several reasons. I wanted to give the panniers a proper test, I wanted to see a little more of my adopted country and Nice Tim and I had been promising Dr Doom that we were going to visit him in Durango to "shred some mtb Gnar" ever since the 2007 Westside Invite in Portland, Oregon.
